Sun Kim is a distinguished dancer, choreographer, artistic director, and educator hailing from South Korea. Specializing in popping—a street dance style where she finds strength and freedom to speak her truth—she is the recipient of the 2025 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship in Choreography, the 2022 Emerging Artist Award at Harlem Stage Gala, and was nominated for Outstanding Breakout Choreographer at the 2022 Bessie Awards. She recently performed in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club on Broadway as a prologue dancer.
Her passion began at age 12 with breaking and popping, and after a decade of training, she moved to New York City in 2011. Since then, she has won the Step Ya Game Up world final popping battle, reached the top 8 at the UK B-Boy Championship world final as the USA popping representative, and performed with Cirque du Soleil. She has also taught at Princeton University, Broadway Dance Center, Peridance Center, and Kookmin University in Seoul.
Beyond her comfort zone, Sun has worked commercially with Madonna, Elton John, Phish, Nike, McDonald’s, Golden Goose, and Gap, while also presenting original works at Burning Man at Sotheby’s, Harlem Stage, Breakin’ Convention, Jacob’s Pillow, New Victory Theater, and Mark Morris.
Her breadth of experience led to the founding of Sun Kim Dance Theatre (SKDT), and has performed at Works & Process, Battery Dance Festival, New Victory Theater, Bronx Museum, San Francisco International Hip Hop Dance Festival, Ladies of Hip Hop Festival, NYU Skirball, and Symphony Space.
Alice is a movement and audiovisual artist from Spain, based in New York. She has been dancing and creating for over 15 years, allowing her to grow as a woman and find a voice for self-expression from an inherently radical place. She developed her love for Street Dance in ComUnity Danza, directed by Ainara Prieto, and she moved to New York in 2018 to deepen her Hip Hop foundations and expand her dance culture.
She is a core member of Sun Kim Dance Theatre and The Fabulous Waack Dancers. Some of her recent works include Assistant Choreographer and Music Director for Lost&Found, Assistant Choreographer for the SIUNYC Opening Number at the Apollo Theater, along with various performances in San Diego, San Francisco, and New York venues such as Lincoln Center, New York Library for the Performing Arts, and New Victory Theatre.
Michael Winograd is a clarinetist and composer from Brooklyn, NYC. He is one of today’s leading performers of Klezmer, Eastern European Jewish music. He plays concerts across the globe and has shared the stage with noted artists such as Itzhak Perlman, the Klezmatics, Budowitz, Zeb Bangash, Yiddishe Pirat and Socalled. He is a featured soloist on Vulfpeck’s The Beautiful Game and has appeared with them at Bonnoroo at Madison Square Garden. His original music has been featured in films, major television series, late night shows, and slightly embarrassing commercials. He was recently a member of the prologue in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club on Broadway alongside the world’s most respected dancer Sun Kim. He is quite happy that their work together continues!
