Residency Program
What’s Included
- Either 1 week or 2 weeks of studio space
- Up to 48 hours of exclusive studio use per week // 10 AM–6 PM, Monday–Saturday
- $2,000 stipend (regardless of residency length) to offset expenses
- An opportunity for an invited showing of the work in progress
- Professional video and photo documentation
Eligibility
- Applicants must be 22 years or older at the time of the application.
- Applicants may not be enrolled in high school, an undergraduate program, or a graduate program at the time of residency.
- Baryshnikov Arts Center accepts applications from artists working in the performing arts: dance, music, theater, multimedia, or any combination thereof.
- Applicants are not limited to a specific geographic location; however, travel and accommodations are the financial responsibility of the applicant. International participants are responsible for their own visa, travel, living, and housing expenses and arrangements.

HOW TO APPLY
For 2027 residency applications:
August 31: Applications open
October 2: Applications close
By December 19: Applicants notified of decision

ARTIST LABS
We believe in continuing to support artists beyond their residencies. Our Artist Labs program provides former Baryshnikov Arts Center residency artists with additional time, space, and funds to further develop their residency project. Pieces selected for Artist Labs have a known or established path to future performances/workshops and are by invitation only.
