Corey Scott-Gilbert aka vAL was born in Washington, D.C. in 1983. After graduation from the Baltimore School for the Arts and The Juilliard School, he became a soloist with the Lyon Opera Ballet, receiving the Princess Grace Award in 2009.

After graduation from the Baltimore School for the Arts and The Juilliard School, he became a soloist with the Lyon Opera Ballet, receiving the Princess Grace Award in 2009. He has been featured in the 84th Academy Awards (2012) and Louis Vuitton Shows (2021–2022). Following his mentorship by Alonzo King and an ankle injury, Scott-Gilbert’s path shifted to that of an independent artist based in Berlin, engaging in collaborations with Eszter Salamon, Sasha Waltz, Julian Rosenfeldt and Ligia Lewis and developing an adopted creative identity in the form of “vAL.” With an inherently Queer perspective and off-grid aesthetic, vAL’s agenda is to further understand the mental state from which creation springs; concerned with sketches of possibility unconfined by genre, gender, demographic or any other limitation placed on the individual by society. The artist’s personal history of movement serves as a vehicle for interrogating their own breath, a process in which collaging wordplay and physical utterance often serve as the foundation for their multidisciplinary playgrounds.
Krsn Brasko, born Christopher Wendland in East Berlin in 1980, is a visual artist, art director, film director, stage designer, video and light designer, and DJ. Brasko pursues creative work in applied commercial design in order to bring in the rent and thus provide himself the space and freedom to invest time in art. Brasko was a co-founder and member of the Collective Pfadfinderei™ (1998–2021) and a partner of PFA-Studio™ (2022–2023), through which he collaborated with Modeselektor, Moderat, Alva Noto, The Aim of Design is to Define Space, Telefon Tel Aviv, Second Woman, Andreas Mühe, Raul Walch, Corey Scott-Gilbert and others. Brasko has been part of the Berlin club and techno scene since the 1990s as both a visual artist and DJ.
Roderick George was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He spent his formative years training at Ben Stevenson’s Houston Ballet Academy, The Ailey School, and the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA). George was a bronze winner of the Youth America Grand Prix in 2005, a YoungArts Winner, and a Presidential Scholar of the Arts in 2003. He has danced for Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, Ballett Basel, GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, and The Forsythe Company. He has performed the work of choreographers such as Marie Chouinard, Peeping Tom, Jorma Elo, Jacopo Godani, William Forsythe, Johan Inger, Jiří Kylian, Sharon Eyal, Ohad Naharin, Benoit Swan-Pouffer, and Richard Wherlock. George’s choreographic work has been shown at the DanceLab at Ballett Basel, the Ballett Basel School, and The Suburbia project with the GöteborgsOperans Danskompani. He was nominated as a choreographer and performer at the Emerging Choreographer Series for the 2012 YAGP and was selected as an Emerging Choreographer for Springboard Danse Montréal 2013. George has been commissioned by dance companies and institutions, including Bodytraffic, Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre, Gibney Dance Center, Fall for Dance North/ NIGHTSHIFT, Juilliard Summer Intensive, Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, New York Live Arts, Sophiensæle Festspiele, The Suzanne Dellal Centre, University of Utah, USC Kaufman School of Dance, and Zurich Tanzhaus.
