Honoring
Christina Sterner

As a producer and arts executive, Christina Sterner’s three-decade-long career blended creative collaboration with entrepreneurial leadership. For nearly twenty years, Sterner led Baryshnikov Productions and Dance Foundation, working alongside Mikhail Baryshnikov to transform the organization into his wide-ranging artistic vision. With White Oak Dance Project, she produced over 40 tours across 35 countries and managed the commission of 62 new works by leading and emerging artists. Sterner also conceived and spearheaded the creation of the Baryshnikov Arts Center in NYC. As Executive Director for its first two years, Sterner set in motion the next chapter of Baryshnikov’s illustrious career.

Before joining Baryshnikov, Sterner played a key role in Philadelphia’s performing arts community. As Managing Director of the Philadelphia Theatre Company, she helped transition the company into a fully professional regional theater, producing 6 seasons by American playwrights.

After leaving the arts sector, Sterner led Frog Commissary, a beloved Philadelphia food and hospitality business. Over 12 years, she revitalized the company, bringing its legacy and operations into the 21st century.
