Transportation
The following ADA-compliant subway stations are in the vicinity of Baryshnikov Arts Center:
● 7 Train—34th Street Hudson Yards (4 blocks away)
● B, D, F, M, R, N, Q, and W Trains—34th Street Herald Square (7 blocks away)
● 1, 2, 3, A, C, E, LIRR, NJ Transit, and PATH Trains—34th Street Penn Station (6 blocks away)
If traveling by car, traffic moves east to west on 37th Street and we are located closest to 10th avenue. There is a step up from the street to the curb. Accessible parking is available at:
● Enterprise Parking—453 West 37th Street
● Icon Parking—404 West 37th Street
Access-A-Ride
● The nearest Access-a-Ride pick-up and drop-off point is at Port Authority Bus Terminal, on 42nd Street between 8th and 9th Avenues (7 blocks away).
Accessibility Statement
Baryshnikov Arts Center is committed to providing accessible experiences to all audience members.
Baryshnikov Arts Center is located on floors 3 through 6 in the building at 450 W 37th Street, New York, NY and is compliant with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) standards. All studios are reachable by non-freight elevator from the ground floor lobby and reception personnel are staffed in the lobby to assist with questions upon entrance. Accessible restrooms are available on Floors 3, 4, and 6.

Accessibility in the Jerome Robbins Theater or Howard Gilman Performance Space
Jerome Robbins Theater
Seats located in row A of the Orchestra do not require the use of stairs. Seats located in the Balcony require use of stairs. Audience members sit in padded, connected seats.
Howard Gilman Performance Space
Seats do not require use of stairs. Audience members sit in freestanding, padded seats.
Service Animals
Baryshnikov Arts Center accommodates service animals needed to assist patrons with disabilities. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (the “ADA”), service animals are defined as “dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities,” which work or tasks “must be directly related to the individual’s disability.” Dogs that solely function to provide comfort or emotional support to their handler are not considered service animals under the ADA.
Service animals that enter the theater must be supervised by and remain under the control of their handler at all times. Service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered, unless the use of these items would impede the service animal’s ability to attend to their handler’s disability, or if the handler’s disability prevents the use of these items. The theater shall not be responsible for the care or supervision of a service animal.
