This year at Baryshnikov Arts has been a lovely celebration of our 20th anniversary. What started as a cautious dream is now a modest success story and I am so grateful for all of you who have made it possible.
While it’s fun to look back at past achievements, we are focused now, more than ever, on the future. Our tireless staff and generous board remain committed to maintaining a place where artists are welcomed and valued. With the leadership of our new director, Jamie Burns, our mission remains clear: to support artists as they develop their work and to present arresting performances unique to BA and its intimate spaces.
This commitment takes dedication and a certain amount of grit. As a New Yorker, I know these qualities are common in our city, but over the last year especially, I have been moved to discover how many of you care about helping artists and enabling the arts to thrive in our city and in our country. Your support funds educational outreach and BA’s singular residencies and performances. I am deeply grateful and I hope you’ll continue to be a part of our ongoing adventure.
